Woman now 106
PA Auckland Mrs Mary Nagle, with more than a century behind her, leads a quiet life at the St Joseph’s home in Herne Bay, Auckland. However, the staff were not about to let one of their most popular women turn 106 without a celebration.
Mrs Nagle and some of her family joined more than 50 of the home’s residents for punch and birthday cake at a party on Saturday. Mrs Nagle ran a board-ing-house in Ireland before she and her late husband, Gerald, and their two sons, came to New Zealand in 1921.
