Charges to follow fatal accident
PA Auckland A man has been charged with dangerous driving causing death after a fatal motor accident on the Northern Motorway early yesterday brought the week-end road toll to 12. A man, aged 51, was killed in the accident, near the Onewa Road interchange in the southbound lanes. He was Donald Victor Del La Varis, of Sussex, Street, Grey Lynn. He was the brother of a former member of Parliament for Taupo, Mr Ra-
mon John La Varis, who died last month. The Takapuna police said a car involved in the -collision was found abandoned not far from the accident A Glenfield man, aged 20, will appear in the North Shore District Court today charged with dangerous driving causing death and failing to stop after an accident. The other fatal accidents at the week-end occurred in Christchurch, on Friday evening, at Cromwell, and in the North Island.
