County signs up Botham
NZPA-Reuter Sydney The England all-roun-der, lan Botham (above), yesterday signed a threeyear contract to play for Worcestershire in the English county cricket championship. Botham, the leading wicket-taker in ■ test cricket, left Somerset last year after 13 years with the county in protest at the sacking of the West Indians, Viv Richards and Joel Garner.
Botham, aged 31, would not reveal details of the contract, but sources said it could be worth about £53,H* ($146,606). He will play for Queensland during the English winter.
