Raymond Bruce suspended
Raymond Bruce was suspended for two riding days after the running of the Monteith 1600 at the Kumara Racing Club's meeting at Kumara on Saturday. Bruce rode Taimoor, which after being first past the post was relegated to second behind Miss Isabel. A protest was lodged by the connections of Miss Isabel on the grounds of alleged interference by the winner and this was upheld by the judicial committee. Bruce's suspension will not take effect until after today and will result in him missing the Greymouth Jockey Club’s meeting on Friday and the Waimate Racing Club’s meeting, on Saturday.
