Taylors Mistake has comfortable surf win
Taylors Mistake was a comfortable winner of the first mega-marathon surf lifesaving contest at New Brighton on. Saturday. Each club in Canterbury entered 15-person teams in the multi-discipline event The six legs covered about 60km with South Brighton and Waimairi the two extremes. Taylors Mistake won four of the legs to finish more than 4min ahead of its closest rival, North Beach. Results:— First leg, swim.— South Brighton, 6min 275, 1; North Beach, 6:41, 2, Taylors Mistake, 6:44, 3. Second leg, ski paddle and canoe.— Taylors Mistake, 25:24, 1; North Beach, 25:42,
2; Waimairi, 26:08, 3. Third leg, surf boat and double ski. — Taylors Mistake, 31:25, 1; North Beach, 32:04, 2; South Brighton, 34:03, 3. Fourth leg, malibu board and single ski.— Taylors Mistake, 27:00, 1; South Brighton, 27:36, 2; Waimairi, 28.09, 3. Fifth leg, surf canoe, beach run and surf boat race.— North Beach, 31:24,1; Taylors Mistake, 32:40, 2; South Brighton, 32:43, 3.
