Dogs on beaches
Sir,—Once again the season for knocking dogs is with us. Mary Kinnaird (January 6) points out that signs are erected: “No dogs allowed.” Often accompanying these notices are others, such as “No motor-cycles," “No litter,” etc. I agree that dog droppings can be a nuisance, but they are nowhere near as bad as broken bottles and jagged tins that can, and do, cause permanent damage; these are not left by dogs.—Yours, etc., JIM' HAMMOND.
