Japanese jockey wants rides
PA Auckland A visiting Japanese jockey, Noburu Yonekawa, aged 26, hopes to ride at the Bay of Plenty Racing Club’s meeting at Tauranga on Friday and the Taupo Racing Club’s on-course only meeting at Taupo on Saturday. Yonekawa is visiting New Zealand with his employer, Sapporo trainer Ken Tejima. Tejima will attend the Waikato and Trentham yearling sales. Yonekawa, who began race-riding 10 years ago, has 85 wins, 23 in stakes races, from about 500 mounts.
His lowest riding weight is 49kg.
