Mr Don Quick (right), an airport rescue fire officer, hands the keys of a rescue tender to Mr Jake Cooper, the director of the Yaldhurst Transport Museum, yesterday. In the truck is Mr Grant Cooper, also from the museum. The tender is a 1973 International rapid-intervention vehicle, and was used as a dry chemical appliance as well as for carrying rescue equipment and paramedic supplies. Its service ended about two weeks ago at Christchurch Airport. The Yaldhurst Transport Museum has applied to the New Zealand Fire Service for two other appliances to add to its collection.
