Howling mediation
PA . Auckland Howling dog problems can be sorted out by arbitration, the Waitemata City Council believes. The council has established a special sub-com-mittee, including the Mayor, Mr Tim Shadbolt, to mediate disputes between the owners of yelping dogs and their aggrieved neighbours.
Cr Jim Heyder said that the sub-committee was charged with holding hearings as soon. as possible when complaints were made about noisy dogs. “We want to sort out the problem without people having family feuds and coming to blows,” he said.
