Rape charges
PA Hastings Two men appeared in the District Court at Hastings yesterday charged with sexually violating a woman at an Auckland Mongrel Mob convention last week-end.
Ben Te Whaiti, aged 26, of Hastings, and Libya Walker, aged 28, of Waipukurau, were remanded to. December 23. Both men sought bail
and their applications were heard in chambers by Judge Elliott. The alleged victim of the rape was in Hawke’s Bay on Wednesday helping detectives inquiring into the incident. The woman and members of the gang have been helping a team of 10 Auckland detectives who arrived in the province two days ago.
