Mr Noel Dickey
Mr Noel Dickey, an importer, and a steward of the New Brighton Trotting Club and a successful owner, died in Christchurch earlier in the week.
Mr Dickey enjoyed success with horses he had trained by Jack Carmichael and Max Miller. Carmichael won races with Young Pride and Lorandi for Mr Dickey, the last-named going on to Melbourne where he was also successful. Young Pride won a number of races in Victoria and he is at present one of the
better-performed horses in New South Wales. Miller won eight races with Armbro Song, a pacer which went on to gain a string of wins in North America. He also won the Methven Two-Year-Old Stakes for Mr Dickey with Derby Double.
