Ansett terminal approved
PA Auckland
Ansett New Zealand has won approval in principle for the construction of a two-storey domestic terminal building at Auckland Airport.
Approval for the $B.l million building, which Ansett will pay for, came yesterday from the airport committee of the Auckland Regional Authority.
The recommendation must still go before the full authority at a meeting on Monday. A representative of Air New Zealand, which has objected to the plan, was allowed to speak at yesterday’s meeting.
The chief executive of Ansett, Mr Ross Keen, said after the meeting that he was delighted with the decision.
“It will enable us to get cracking so that we can announce an early startup date,” he said.
