Grants to charities
Ten Canterbury groups have benefited from grants announced by the A.F.W. and J. M. Jones Foundation. The Salvation Army and the Christchurch City Mission social service council each received $BOOO from the fund which in the last 10 years has given $320,631 to New Zealand
organisations. This year grants totalled $70,098. Other Canterbury recipients included the Methodist Central Mission and the Presbyterian Support Services, each receiving $6OOO, and the Christchurch Children’s Holiday Camp Trust and the Mayor’s Welfare Fund with $4OOO each.
