NZPA-AFP Tokyo Two Japanese amateur astronomers discovered a new comet which was named the Urata-Niijima comet, after the two discoverers, by the International Astronomical Union, said the Tokyo Astronomical Observatory. Tsueno Niijima, a poultry dealer, aged 31, took a photograph of what appeared to be an unidentified comet with a camera attached to a telescope 30cm in diameter and Takeshi Urata, aged 38, a company employee, analysed it, the Observatory said.
