Man remanded

PA Auckland After an argument over his United Building Society account, a student threw a stone at a teller, the District Court at Auckland has been told. Sergeant Warwick Robertson said the student, Rudy John Frueau, aged 22, of Mount Eden, later telephoned the society’s branch at 96 Queen Street and threatened a teller. Subsequently he returned to the office and pulled a knife on another staff member.

Frueau pleaded guilty to threatening to injure a teller with intent to intimidate her, behaving in a

disorderly manner, and possession of an offensive weapon, a knife, in a public place. Mr Robertson said that after arguing with a teller about his account on September 24, Frueau left the society’s office and returned with a stone. He threw the stone, which hit a wall. Frueau told police he threw the stone and made the telephone call because the teller should have been more polite. Judge Nicholson convicted Frueau on all three charges and remanded him in custody for sentence on November 12.
