Two face murder charge
PA Rotorua Two men charged with the murder of a Waihi man, aged 56, appeared in the District Court at Rotorua yesterday. Shadrach Sidney Paraha, aged 29, and Marnie Te Rauparaha Wineera, aged 19, both from Taupo, were jointly charged with the murder of Mr Edward Miles William Rikihana Byrne last week, and with aggravated robbery. Mr Byrne was living at the Waihi Beach holiday motor camp at the time. His missing vehicle was recovered in Taupo on Thursday afternoon. Judge Monaghan remanded Paraha and Wineera in custody to appear in the court at Hamilton on October 14.
