Sex education
Sir, — For the sake of Brendan McNeill (September 9), I am sorry I have to explain it was precisely because I did not take his September 5 letter at face value that I replied as I did. I make my point again, that educating children is not only the right and responsibility of parents. Brendan McNeill’s plea for a choice of schools acknowledges that, or else why send them to any? One would need to live in splendid isolation. I did not suggest that truth lay with the majority, but rather implied that, in searching for it, we might do it. in a collective caring way. — Yours, etc., HILARY BROWN. September 10, 1986.
