Curfew ‘untenable’
PA Auckland Air New Zealand yesterday remained adamant that a solution had to be found to the air traffic controller shortage to prevent a curfew from September 22 at Auckland Airport. The airline’s public affairs manager, Mr Bob
Wallace, said, “It is untenable for us as an operator and for the consumer — the consumer will not stand for it.” From September 22 a curfew is planned on night domestic flights so that Auckland controllers can take overdue leave.
