Heart girl home soon
NZPA London One of the joys for Mrs Clare Grant these days is seeing her daughter, Charlotte, aged five, laugh. "Before she couldn’t even have a good laugh because she would get exhausted. It used to be just a chuckle — now she rolls around and laughs,” Mrs Grant told NZPA.
Charlotte had heart-and-lung transplant surgery at Harefield Hospital on the outskirts of London on June 7 and has just been given a health clearance which should enable her to return to Wellsford, Northland, in two weeks. Her mother plans to have her home in time to celebrate her sixth birthday on October 1.
