Haszard retains trophy
Glen Haszard (Avonside) has won the Harry Sargent Memorial Trophy for most wins in A reserve grade table tennis for the second consecutive season. He was hard-pressed, however, by his team-mate, Richard Tan, and a University player, Phillip Rodley, who both had better win percentages but played fewer matches. The only unbeaten regular player in inter-club games was Neil Gyde, whose Avonside team won the Wednesday night B grade section. Gyde did not falter until the B grade play-off, losing one of his three singles in his side’s 5-6 loss to the Avonside team which won the Monday night series.
