Record ram
Two Argentines paid a world record $ Austlo2,ooo ($130,560) for a merino ram at the annual Adelaide Ram Sale. Luis Epiquemal and Hertian Baleassarre bought the 26-month-old ram, called J.C. and F 55, as a stud for their property in Argentina. The ram came from the Collinsville Stud, in South Australia’s mid north, which this year started a breeding and research centre. The previous record for a merino ram was sAust79,ooo ($101,120) paid in 1981, also for a Collinsville Stud animal. — Adelaide.
