Bid to ban strap fails
PA Auckland The Auckland Education Board yesterday rejected moves by two of its members to have the strap outlawed in primary schools. Mrs Tracey Wother-
spoon and Mr Lin Smith asked the board to abolish the practice and push its national organisation, the Education Boards’ Association, to do likewise. The board defeated the move, 11 votes to five.
