Speedway image change
A new image, with the emphasis on spectator entertainment, is planned for Woodford Glen Speedway this season by the circuit’s new promoter, Mr Wayne Densem. The first step in a programme of improvements envisaged by Mr Densem has been installing a concrete lip at the base of the circuit wall. This is to minimise the risk of mechanical damage or injury to competitors, particularly in the stock car class. The lip is intended to deflect vehicles or allow them to ride up rather than hit the wall head on. Apart from general tidying, Mr Densem also plans to have more car-parks and new pit lighting installed before the season starts.
