Wormaid bonus, lift
PA Wellington Wormaid International (NX), Ltd, has announced a l-for-3 bonus issue and a 4.5 c a share dividend after lifting its final profit for the year ended June 30 by 25.4 per cent to $2,671,000 ($2,130,000 last year). Unspecified extraordinary items worth $141,000 ($245,000) were deducted from the tax-paid profit figure. The directors, in a statement to the Stock Exchange, also recommended a 10 c a share dividend on specified preference shares. Turnover rose to $83,553,000 ($69,746,000) and tax took $2,118,000 ($1,024,000). The dividends are payable on October 14. Bonus shares would rank equally with existing shares except that they would not participate in any final dividend which may be declared at the end of the present financial year.
