Sir, — In your edition of August 21, there appeared an advertisement by ALP Sports which seems to me misleading
though the ALP Sports’ manager claims.it to be factual. We could both be right. It is selling a pack at $182.70 (price after GST $282.70). I claim that the 54 per cent increase has nothing to do with GST which, therefore, need not have been featured. This is a case of a discount price, until September 30. I agree with the manager when she assumes that “after” does not mean “because of” but the advertisment does give that impression as in the phrase “after tax.” — Yours, etc. STAN L. JELLEY.
