Musical for 102nd birthday
PA Wellington An old-time musical and a party at the Lake Heights Home in the Wellington suburb of Berham- • pore helped the oldest resident, Mrs Florence Rose, celebrate her 102nd birthday on Monday. Mrs Rose was deluged with cards and flowers at the home, to mark the occasion. She was born in Lon-
don, but came to New Zealand with her family when aged one, in 1885. She had her primary education at the now-de-molished Mount Cook School and has spent most of her life living in the Brooklyn area. . She did, however, work •at her father’s dental technician’s business in Dunedin for a short while. She married in 1907 and had three sons.
