Demolition order
The Westport Borough Council has confirmed its intention to serve a notice on the Buller Unemployment Centre requiring the gutted building to be demolished and removed within 30 days of receiving . the notice. The decision was made at a special meeting yesterday morning which was attended by the
borough solicitor, Mr Brian Lovell. If the unemployment centre does not demolish the building in the specified time, the council will seek a demolition order from the Court If the centre still does not comply, council can have the work carried out and the cost charged to the unemployment organisation.
