European wines to replace S. African
Quill Humphreys, Ltd, will begin importing European wines to replace South African wines, banned by the Government.
The chairman of the firm’s board of directors, Mr Frank Crothall, said the company was “taking active steps” to replace the South African wines.
"we can’t afford not to replace that turnover,” he said.
Mr Crothall would not say how much of the firm’s trade was affected by the sanctions. The day after the sanctions were announced, he said the contract with Stellenbosch Wines made “a considerable contribution to our profit.”
