Waver ley Star invited
Special correspondent Auckland The Matamata trainers, Dave and Paul O’Sullivan, have received a tentative invitation to race the topclass four-year-old Waverley Star in the United States later this year. A letter was sent from
Mr Robert T. Manfuso, the executive vice-presi-dent of the Laurel Racecourse, stating there was interest in having Waverley Star on hand for the Washington D.C. International on November 15. The event is worth SUS6OO,OOO and is raced
on turf over 2000 metres, the distance over which Waverley Star won in record time in the television New Zealand Stakes at Ellerslie last April. Dave O’Sullivan said he plans to write back to Mr Manfuso and find out more information.
