Drivers leave

PA Timaru Members of the Canterbury and Westland Drivers’ Union have voted two-to-one to pull out of the Distribution Workers’ Federation. The union’s secretary, Mr Don Cunninghame, said he was pleased with the result. It supported the union executive’s views.

He said the federation had cost the union a lot of money since it was set up last year and had “brought no changes.” Some other unions would no doubt take a close look at continued membership.
