Brewery checks switch

PA Auckland New Zealand Breweries has asked its lawyers to investigate an advertising switch involving the former Kiwi rugby league skipper, Mark Graham. Graham will appear in Dominion Breweries’, new draught beer campaign starting in Australia today.

In the new DB promotion, Graham is shown in his New Zealand playing gear with the theme: “One great Kiwi deserves another.”

Graham recently did promotional work for the rival company New Zealand Breweries during the trans-Tasman test series.

“There is no legal hitch as far as my manager and I are concerned,” Graham said.

He had been contracted during the latest test series with Australia but as far as he knew he was now a free agent. N.Z. Breweries’ managing director, Mr Ron Endley, said company lawyers were studying the terms of Graham’s contract.

They would complete their investigation today and then make a decision.
