Pay increase 20 p.c.
PA Wellington Pay packets increased just over 20 per cent in the last 12 months to an average of $370 a week before tax, according to the quarterly employment survey.
The Secretary of Labour, Mr Jas McKenzie, said that for the survey pay week in May average ordinary time weekly
earnings before tax stood at $371.27 for all persons.
The average for males was $411.88 and for females, $312.93. The, “all persons” annual increase in average ordinary time weekly earnings was 20.2 per cent, compared with 8.7 per cent recorded in the year ended May, 1985.
