Adoptees may obtain certificates
Wellington, reporter Adult ‘ adopted people may obtain their original birth certificates from September 1 under the terms of the Adult Adoption Information Act, 1985.
The fee for the birth certificate is $lO, the same price as an ordinary birth certificate. Any adult adopted per-
son wanting a copy of his or her original certificate may write to the RegisterGeneral of Births, Deaths and Marriages at Lower Hutt, enclosing the $lO fee.
If the wrong year of birth is given so that additional years have to be searched, a $2 fee is required for each additional year.
