Auckland pressures Roads Board

Yhe National Roads Board is under political pressure from Auckland to spend more of its funds there.
Local authorities, members of the public, and Auckland members of Parliament had all been lobbying him about the increasing traffic problems and bottlenecks there, said the Minister of Works, Mr Colman.
The chairman of the Auckland Regional Authority, Mr Fred Thomas, said people were seeking to make political capital in the run-up to the local body elections in October.
