The Civic Pride Campaign is supported by local authority and private sector finance, and Is assisted administratively by the Christchurch City Council The organisation consists of five committees of volunteer members from all sectors of the community and the Co-ordinator acts as a facilitator, secretary for all committees, promotions and activities leader, and trainer of voluntary assistants. Applicants must be mature and experienced at dealing with community leaders in both the business and administrative sectors. Ability in public relations, promotional advertising and journalism would be advantageous. The position needs initiative, tact, creativity and management ability. It should be noted that this position is initially for the period ending March 31, 1987, but this could be reviewed before that date.
