The College offers nine diplomas, six postgraduate diplomas and six bachelor’s degrees, and the successful candidate will be required to participate in the teaching programme of the Agricultural Engineering Department which is Involved in all these courses. The Department has a staff of about twenty, more than half of which are professional engineers and scientists, and is involved in teaching, research and extension in land and water engineering, mechanisation and processing, buildings and services, and engineering for recreation and tourism. Applicants should have interests in the design and construction of buildings and structures for agriculture, horticulture and rural recreation; an interest in land surveying and development in these settings would be an advantage. Applicants with expertise in other areas relevant to the work of the Department are encouraged to apply. The appointee will be expected to develop a specialist area of Interest through the teaching of professional agricultural engineering undergraduate and postgraduate courses and personal research.
