Brutus Hanover fit to record fourth win at Hutt Park

Wellington The in-form Brutus Hanover should notch up his fourth win on the Hutt Park track when he contests the Hotel Waterloo Mobile Pace at the Wellington’ Harness Racing Club’s meeting at Hutt Park this evening. The Waterloo is for Class 3 and 4 horses over 2000 m and is the first leg of the T.A.B. double. Brutus Hanover is fit for the test having run three races already this term. He has been racing solidly and ran the fine pacer, Alba’s Reign, to three-quarters of a length

at Cambridge on August 22.

He had earlier been a

close third on the same track and looks ready for a winning run. He will have to start from the outside of the front row but with only eight runners the wide draw should not prove too much of a disadvantage. He will be driven by last season’s top driver, Maurice McKendry. South Islander My Locality comes north with solid form, including a last start third at Addington on August 16. He should measure up well here while the locallytrained gelding, Jive Boy, should go boldly. He has not raced since July 4 but runs well fresh and has shown considerable ability. Revonah Lord, a previous winner on the track at

long odds, has the speed to take advantage of his good draw, while Idle Thoughts is racing soundly. The talented Bionic Raider should prove too strong for his rivals in the Totara Lodge Mobile Pace, the second leg of the T.A.B. double. He has always looked a cut above average and he showed he was close to form with a useful fourth at Addington last Monday. He has drawn nicely on the front line and should prove too strong for others in this field.

Star Status, which will be driven by Tony Herlihy, has been racing a little erratically, but has ability, while Criolla and Oslo could be the pick of the others.
