Floral processions
Two floral processions will be held early next year, as part of the Christchurch Floral Festival. Mr Frank Harvey, the chairman of the festival’s events ’ sub-committee, said the first procession would be held on February 28. The second procession, called the “Battle of Flowers," would be held
on March 8, he said. During this procession, people on floats will throw flowers at the public who will be invited to throw flowers, back. The floral festival will be launched on February 27 with a “give a flower” day, during which 50,000 floral bouquets would be given away, Mr Harvey said.
