U.S. campaign for Crown Star?

PA Auckland Crown Star, scratched from the Pakuranga Hunt Cup at Ellerslie on Saturday, may soon undertake a United States campaign, owner-trainer Ken Browne has confirmed. He said while there were three races suitable for Crown Star in coming weeks, more lucrative prizes were on offer in the United States. Browne said he had his eyes on a $U5250,000 race to be run at Fairhill, Maryland, on November 1.

He said he had talked on Friday to organisers of the 3800 metre steeplechase. “I’ve got to know as soon as possible if we’re going because, if we are, he’ll need a brief spell right away,” said Browne.

“I don’t want to get there and find he’s gone flat.”

Browne said there were six races either immediately before or after the big one which were worth between SUSSO,OOO and SUSIOO,OOO. “That’s quite a choice,” said Browne.
