Winfield Pacing Cup worth $250,000
NZPA-AAP Melbourne Victoria will host the richest harness race in Australia next year, the Winfield Pacing Cup, which will carry $250,000 in stake money.
The Victorian Harness Racing Board have announced massive increases in its prizemoney structure with the Winfield Cup replacing the A. G. Hunter Cup as Vic-
toria’s premier harness race.
The Winfield Pacing Cup carnival has been rescheduled from its normal spring-time slot to be run over three nights in February next year, the board announced. It said a total of $320,000 has been put into Victoria’s leg of the National Grand Circuit Championship.
