Music while you run ...
PA Auckland Runners who join in New Zealand’s first cultural fun run may be able to hear strains of Mozart above their panting. The Auckland Philharmonic Orchestra is organising a fun run along the Auckland waterfront on November 23 which will include musicians and entertainers positioned en route. Runners will not need to bother with portable radios and headphones, but will be able to keep time to a chamber quartet or rely on an upcoming violinist to string up their stamina. The orchestra’s general manager, Mr Christopher Blake, said the run was modelled on the Honolulu Symphony Fun Run, which had proved highly successful. “In Honolulu they have had entrants on pogo sticks and rollerskates,” said Mr Blake.
