Wrestler hurts leg
NZPA staff correspondent Edinburgh A Carterton wrestler, Grant Parker, damaged a leg playing soccer yesterday but the New Zealand team manager, Bruce Ullrich, hoped he was not out of the Commonwealth Games. Parker, a 25-year-old competing in the 90kg division, hurt ligaments
during the usual warm-up football match before practice in an Edinburgh gymnasium, said Mr Ullrich. Medical advisers suspected a broken leg but after an X-ray examination Mr Ullrich declared there was no fracture. The team manager said Parker was back walking and might still compete.
