First kart round
When the Christchurch Kart Club conducts its first race for some weeks at the Radio Avon raceway, Carrs Road, on Sunday the first round of the annual points series will be run.
The points series is over line race meetings, but the inly event that carries points' tor the series will be the first :lass race of the day. In previous years, each :lass has contested a series of ,'ive scratch races and a feature or handicap event. In i change of format the
scratch races have been reduced to four, to be followed by two handicap races. From time to time a feature race will be included in the programme. Normally in handicap
events the drivers spread aound the circuit, all taking off at the wave of a flag. This season handicaps will be taken at the start line, club officials using a large clock. The five classes should have good fields for the start of the season, especially the novices.
