Editor appointed
Ms Elizabeth Caffin, a former Christchurch woman, has become the new managing editor of the Auckland University Press. Ms Caffin, who has also done freelance writing and editing, has been an editor for Collins Publishers since early 1985. She was educated at St Margaret’s College and graduated from the University of Canterbury with a masters degree in English. She has also been a junior lecturer in English
at Victoria University of Wellington. She is a member of the Government’s Literary Advisory Committee and the New Zealand Press Council. Ms Caffin is the author of a small book on Katherine Mansfield, and edited a volume of “Poetry New Zealand.” Her father, Professor Neville Phillips, was ViceChancellor of the University of Canterbury for 11 years.
