Britons top tea drinkers
NZPA-AAP London Britons drink about 196 million cups of tea a day and remain the world’s top consumers.
Figures published by the Tea Council show the annual consumption of tea a person in Britain is 1355 cups, compared with 889 in second-placed New Zealand, 642 in Australia, 325 in Russia and 321 in the United States.
On average, Britons consume 3.77 cups of tea a day, compared with 1.8 cups of coffee, 1.3 cups of alcohol, 1.03 cups of soft drinks and 0.19 cups of milk.
