Police watch after court disruptions
PA Auckland A large team of police kept watch at the District Court at Auckland yesterday after a morning of disruptions.
The trouble, began at 9.30 when Dun Mihaka, in court for a date to be set for his trial on an assault charge, became angry when told his case would not proceed.
He abused Judge Nicholson, was held in contempt of court, and was taken to the cells. A large crowd of Mr Mihaka’s friends and supporters kept a noisy vigil
in the court foyer, eventually forcing Judge Nicholson to adjourn his court After warnings from the police, two women were arrested for trespassing in the courthouse.
