New director for World Cup
PA Wellington A Wellington management consultant, Mr James Campbell, has been appointed executive director of next year’s rugby World Cup championships. He replaces Sir Desmond Sullivan, of Wellington, who has given up the position since taking up new Government appointments on the New Zea-
land Lottery Board and the Waitangi Tribunal.
He will work with Mr Alan Barrett, of Christchurch, as assistant executive director, and Mr Ernie Collins.
The World Cup tournament will be played in Australia and New Zealand in May and June next year, with two-thirds of the games in New Zealand.
