N.Z. skater loses skin in fall
PA Nelson The New Zealand skater, Scott Constantine, lost 10 per cent of his skin
after a high speed crash on the first day of an international event in Belgium on the week-end. The New Zealand selector, Mr Terry Sandall, said Constantine spent three days in hospital, but was now on his way to Italy for further international competition. He said the group of skaters Constantine was amfdst clocked 70km/h just before the fall, which happened on a downhill
section. Constantine is with two other New Zealand team members racing in Europe in a build-up to the world championships in Adelaide in September. In the three-day event at Wettern, Andrew Easton (Levin) finished third over-all, and won the second stage by 90s after making a break on the field. . .
Debbie Sandall (Auckland) finished third overall in the women’s section aftenr finishing in the first three in all stages and winning stage two.
