Product claims sex choice
NZPA-Reuter Englewood, Colorado A Colorado company has introduced an over-the-counter product which is said to allow would-be parents to predetermine the sex of a child, with a reliability rate of up to 85 per cent. Pro Care Industries, Ltd, said the product, Gender Choice, was the first of its kind on the market, and would be distributed by major retail drug and grocery stores throughout the United States and internationally through agents.
The Company’s president, Mr Robert Marsik,
said that Gender Choice would give consumers an 85 per cent chance of choosing the desired sex of their next child.
The company, which makes consumer healthcare products, expected sales of Gender Choice of SUS2.S million ($4.62 million) to SUS 3 million ($5.55 million) for the remainder of 1986 and SUS 6 million ($ll.ll million) to SUSB million ($14.81 million) in 1987, Marsik said.
Mr Marsik was not immediately available to answer questions about how the product worked. •
