unbeaten 119 out of a Yorkshire total of 270 for five against Leicestershire. It was a typically dour Boycott effort his stay at the crease having spanned 85 overs before he reached three figures. Only four players, all Englishmen, have scored more hundreds than Boycott — Jack Hobbs (197), Patsy Hendred (170), Wally Hammond (167) and Phil Mead (153).
